Seeking help choosing right dog as a pet?

We are looking for a dog to complete our family. We have two young children at ages 3 and 1, so obviously be very child friendly. Cast and preferably hair short or very short cast, if possible. Should not need tons of exercise, but being able to enjoy a lot of exercise as it is mainly active on weekends and holidays. I would love a boxer but I suspect too strong and responsible for sending children flying, etc? However, I love you and are very loyal. Any suggestion and are based on what would be most welcome! Thanks

Good thinking on the high-energy combination of small dogs for children. If you go into a shelter or human society, they will listen to your situation and be able to recommend a good race, or even an individual with good dog for adoption at that time. There are also race a couple of tests online that will ask some questions on your lifestyle and what you're looking for, and recommend the races for you. Good luck!
